How to Pray for our Church? National Day of Prayer 2010 #2

 God's Challenge...
"May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me." John 17:24

Our Response...
Pray for unity among believers in the Body of Christ. Ask God to inspire and empower His children for His purposes - reaching the lost for His glory and encouraging one another in Christ. Never before has it been more imperative that the Church serve as a "city on a hill" (Matthew 5:14) before a hurting world.

Please watch this short video below and let's pray together for our Church.
God Bless you,

How to Pray for our Government? National Day of Prayer 2010- Countdown Video 1

God's Challenge...
1 Timothy 2:1-2 "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

Our Response...
Pray for local, state and federal leaders. Ask God to grant them wisdom, discernment and hearts open to His leading. Pray that believers would be faithful t lift up our officials and the decisions that will affect our nation's futute, so that biblical principles might prevail in the public square and throughout the halls of government.

Please watch this short video below and let's pray together for our Government.
God Bless you,

National Day of Prayer 2010- The Countdown

The 59th Annual National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, May 6, 2010. Millions will unite in prayer at thousands of events from coast to coast. The theme for this year is “Prayer for Such a Time as This” and is based on the verse from Nahum 1:7 which states: “The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.”

Pastor Don Dukes of Prayer for the Harvest Ministries will be leading the Event in Whitefish Montana. Several members of the community will come and participate by leading a prayer dedicated to a different topic.

Relationship or Religion

Read Luke 14:1-14. The priest and Pharisees were administrators and interpreted religious law. They would observe the law in their homes and in the temple. Jesus asked a question to these “so called” experts of religious law as He encountered a man before Him suffering from swollen legs and arms, “Well, is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath day, or not?” They really could not answer Jesus because they had put so many stipulations upon the observance of the law, the law it self became diluted and difficult to interpret thus putting a load of care on the people. When they refused to answer, Jesus touched the man and healed him and sent him away. Jesus would then “stump them” by turning to them after healing the suffering man, and asked them, “Which of you doesn’t work on the Sabbath? If your son or cow falls into a pit, don’t you proceed at once to get him out?” (NLT). We too can have that same spirit of the Pharisees and priest of religious law! We are so concerned about our traditions and walk in blind obedience to dogma and adherence rules and regulations that we fail to understand the true heart of Christianity. “Love God with all your heart, soul, and mine, and love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no law higher that this!

IF YOU HAVE RECIEVED THE SPIRIT AND ARE OBEYING HIM, YOU FIND HE BRINGS YOUR SPIRIT INTO COMPLETE HARMONY WITH GOD, AND THE SOUND OF YOUR GOINGS AND THE SOUND OF GOD’S GOINGS ARE ONE AND THE SAME.  Oswald Chambers (1874-1917)

After Easter, now what!

In Luke chapter 22 as Jesus was praying in the garden of Gethsemane, He said to His disciples, “Pray that you will not enter into temptation.” In verses 41-42 of Luke chapter 22, the bible says that He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not my will but Yours, be done.” The heart of our Lord Jesus Christ is for us to continually seek God’s will for our lives even after receiving Him as our Savior for His finished work on the cross. Many people receive Jesus as savior of their souls but don’t allow Him to be the Lord over every area of their lives! The bible tells us that the plans God has for us is good even in the midst of trial and trouble. Jesus, in verse 44 of Luke 22, being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. He would later go on to be punished, beaten for our sake, crucified, then the good news! He would rise again! The bible tells us that for the joy set before Him, He endured the cross! What was His joy! That we would have salvation from eternal damnation and enjoy sweet fellowship with Him and our heavenly Father! To live a continual resurrected life, we must follow the continual example of God the Son, (Jesus). Pray for God’s perfect will to be done in our lives without the fear that He will give us more than we can bear. He won’t do that! The bible tells us so! The same God that raised Jesus from death to life and seated Him at His Mighty Right Hand, will raise us also in the areas of our lives where it seems that death has taken over! Pray and believe! Then expect the Lord to show up big! He will come in His great love.

PRAYER IS NOT THE OPPOSITE OF WORK; IT DOES NOT PARALYZE ACTIVITY. RATHER, PRAYER ITSELF IS THE GREATEST WORK; IT WORKS MIGHTILY
